The Reverend Dr. Betty Lynn Schwab M.A., M.A., M.Div., Ph.D. was a congregational worship leader for 26 years in western Canada. She was then called to the ministry of Worship, Music, and Spirituality at the national offices of The United Church of Canada. Recently retired, she devotes her time to Biblical Drumming: www.holyrhythms.ca.
During her ministry, Betty Lynn was one of 30 clergywomen selected for a Lilly program held twice a year for six years at Our Lady of Grace Monastery, Beech Grove, Indiana. Along with the sisters, they focussed on deepening their prayer life. She then completed the three-year program to become an Oblate of that monastery, returning joyfully to renew her Benedictine vows each year. Her academic interests continue to be the prayer and spirituality of worship in Islam, Hinduism and Christianity.
