In oratorio, he has performed most of the principal tenor roles, including the Evangelist in Bach's St. Matthew and St. John Passions, Britten's St. Nicholas, Dvorak's Stabat Mater, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Creation, Mendelssohn's Lobgesang and Elijah, Puccini's Messa di Gloria, Vaughan William's Hodie and Elgar's Dream of Gerontius. He represented Canada at the inauguration of the four-continent-wide Chamber Music Festival, Lebensstürme, (May 2001, Austria), and was immediately invited to further performances as far away as Australia and Japan.

Lenard is co-founder/producer of TrypTych Productions, "Canada's Advocates of the Vocal Arts", and is organist and choir director at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Toronto.

He hails from Kenora, Ontario, and recently paid tribute to his mentor, Lawrence Leverington, of that town's St. Alban's Cathedral to establish the Lawrence B. Leverington Mentor Award at the University of Toronto's Scarborough Campus, where he has been course instructor and Concert Choir Director for nine years.
