"Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night."

Daniel L. Schutte's paraphrase of God's call to Samuel is a reflection of the calling we feel to serve God, our choirs and our congregations as church musicians.

Changes in our society have caused our churches to re-evaluate their offerings to their communities and how best to serve their needs. So, too, we as church musicians must be looking at how we can evolve to meet the new demands while still being true to the music and to our calling.

This year's sessions will be focusing on relationships with our congregations, with our choristers, and with our clergy and committees, and on how to build and maintain those relationships within a pastoral and theological perspective.

Come to SICM 2012 and join with other students and some of the finest faculty in the organ and choral arts as we seek to strengthen our leadership roles through service (no tennis rackets required!).
