The Church Musician as Master Chef

From Sunday July 3rd pm to  Friday July 8th, 2016 am
At Trafalgar Castle School, Whitby, Ontario, Canada

The 47th session of Canada’s Summer Institute of Church Music welcomes Dr. Evelyn Grieger, who comes to us from Edmonton as our Choral Instructor. And back for another session, Saskatchewan native turned faculty at New York’s Crane School of Music, organist, Michelle Martin-Atwood.

At SICM 2016, using the metaphor of the Church Musician as Master Chef, we will explore together various ways to enhance our music programs without emptying the larder and possibly cook in new and different ways by maximizing who we are and what we have.

Daily sessions include enriching worship music with various instruments and percussion, balancing a nourishing and inspiring diet of the old and the new, successful kitchen management from the keyboard when your hands and mind are full, and making it all work on your family budget.

Reserve July 3rd to 8th at beautiful Trafalgar Castle School in Whitby, Ontario, for this unique, economical, enriching and inspiring week of friendship and beautiful music.
