The health and safety of everyone involved with SICM 2022 is our top priority.
As the COVID-19 situation in Canada and internationally continues to evolve, the SICM Board of Directors reserve the right to alter, postpone or cancel the Institute at any time.
Many provincial and municipal government jurisdictions across Canada are loosening public health restrictions at this time. As announced in March 2022 the Provinces of Ontario and Alberta have updated guidelines significantly, including moving from “mandated” masking to “recommended” masking in interior settings, as well as changing isolation, testing, and reporting protocols dependent on vaccination status.
SICM 2022 intends to abide by the COVID-19 protocols of all the Institute venues. These venues may have tighter restrictions than is provincially or municipally required, and Institute registrants, faculty and concert audience members will be asked to comply with those guidelines in order to participate. These could include, but may not be limited to, precautions such as proof of vaccination against COVID-19, tight-fitting high-quality masks (N95 or similar quality), social distancing, and regular self-screening. An update regarding the expected protocols for the SICM venues will be provided as we get closer to the event.
We ask that all our Institute participants remain compassionate, kind, and supportive of those who wish to continue wearing a mask or maintain social distance in order to feel comfortable participating in our events.
The SICM Board of Directors are not liable for expenses related to travel arrangements or other financial commitments made by registrants and participants as they plan to attend SICM 2022. We strongly encourage anyone making travel reservations to purchase travel insurance or other protections as required.
These guidelines are subject to change and will be updated as needed.
